11/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zena pulls a hard on the leash. She became stiff and showed some concerning behavior during the assessment. Zena shows some concerning during the tag interaction: growled and tried to bite the assessor. For safety reason the behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Zena was not interested in toys. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 5. Dog growls and tries to bite. Toy 1. No interest. When off leash with other dogs Zena will briefly approach the helper dog to sniff but then spends her time exploring the yard. 11/5 update: Zena greets the other dog through the gate but once introduced she is avoidant of both the handler and the other dog.
