12/01/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: A gorgeous redhead, Woody’s coat is a blend of golds, tans, reds – like the finest woven tapestry. His face is serious as he faces his new world, but he’s friendly and welcoming, happy to be warm and well fed. He’s likely housetrained, good on the leash and as we pass other dogs of all sizes in the park he wags his tail in friendship. In play group he’s bouncy and fun, initiating a series of bows inviting his doggy friend to play. So cute! He’s a bit shy with people, quiet but friendly, giving me kisses and snuggling close once we’ve established our friendship (which didn’t take long at all). Woody let me put a coat on him against the chilly morning air, takes treats gently, so seems to have known the comforts of a home before being found by the police tied to a pole. His playful loving spirit shines even through his serious face in pictures and he knows his new person is out there waiting to find him. We know it too and are rooting for him. He’s an awesome little guy; ask to meet him today!!

12/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Woody walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Woody had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He was not interested in toys. Woody did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Playgroup notes: Woody engages in running play with males and females. He is a bit sexually motivated.

12/01/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Woody engages in running play with male annd female dogs. He may also attempt to mount other dogs in the pen (Woody had been unaltered at the time of introduction). Based on observations made during playgroup, the behavior department recommends that Woody may be placed into a home with a playful, tolerant dog. An adoption interaction is highly recommended. When off leash with other dogs, Woody briefly engages in play, also attempts to mount. 12/1: Woody engages in running play with males and females. He is a bit sexually motivated. 12/2 update: Woody attempts to mount the other dog despite correction being offered.
