07/25/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/25/15 13:33 Basic Information: Haze is a 4yr old neutured male Pit Bull/Beagle mix that is allergic to peanuts/peanut butter and certian forms of heart worm medication according to the owner. Social Life & Personality: Haze comes from a home with children and he interacted with them in a playful gentle mannor. He has interacted with other dogs and got along with them fine. The owner isn’t sure how Haze would respond to the presence of a cat due to never having one around for him to interact with. Haze is an indoor only dog that is how broken. Haze is described to be frienly, playful, and affectionate with a medium activity level. Behavior Issues: Haze doesn’t have any guarding issues and this applies to food, treats, and toys. These items can be given and taken away with no issues. He takes well to grooming agents like recieving a bath, having his coat brushed, however the owner has never attempted to trim his nails and doesn’t know how he would respond to it if you tried. For a New Family to Know: Haze knows a few basic commands like sit, down, shake paw, and other paw. He went for slow walks on a leash for daily exercise and this was done twice a day. Haze enjoys all sorts of dog toys and will play with just about anything. He also enjoys playing tug-of-war. When in the home Haze is the type to follow you around seeking attention or remain in a favorite spot in the home. When left alone in the home Haze is well behaved and this applies to him being left in the yard as well. Haze was brought up eating both wet/dry food and there was no specific brand the owner gave.

A volunteer writes: Vegas is about as fun as his name is!!! He’s a silly goof ball, walking around with his nose to the ground dragging his long ears beside him!!! Vegas is a handsome dog who was surrendered to the shelter when his family moved to a place that did not allow dogs. Vegas is a lot of fun to have out of the kennel he wants to play and be goofy. He makes you have a permanent smile. Vegas would do well in just about any home please come to siacc and meet him.
07/28/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Vegas came to our center as an owner surrender. Owner reports he comes from a home with children and he interacted with them in a playful gentle manner. Vegas has also interacted well with other dogs. Behavior with cats is unknown. Haze held gaze for three full seconds during Look item, tail wagging. He stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, tail wag, body soft. Vegas followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft, settling easily at the end. He did not pull his paw back for both Squeeze attempts, tail wagging. Vegas had no interest in Food or Toy. He relinquished Rawhide easily. Vegas approached the helper dog at an appropriate pace, tail at spine level, but seemed slightly apprehensive and nervous. The Behavior Team feels Vegas would do well in an Average home. He may benefit from daily walks, runs, exercise and play. He was very affectionate during the SAFER assessment and licked assessor’s face often in between items. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1.
