08/26/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I fell in love with Twistie pretty quickly (I have a thing for older ladies with bat ears). Twistie walks well on the leash, is very sweet and affectionate, and LOVES treats. She’s quiet at first, but once I got her to follow me outside for a walk, no better word could describe her than joyful. Twistie stopped to look back at me while we were walking and even stopped for snuggles on a nearby stoop. She knows how to sit for treats, has a calm vibe, and who can pass by those gorgeous ears. Come see Twistie today! Another volunteer writes: The day Twistie arrived her cage was covered with a blanket (presumably because she was overwhelmed to find herself in such a strange place!). And let me tell you, peeling that blanket back made me feel like I was one of those girls on the Price is Right revealing the grand prize behind door number one – she is ALL kinds of cute! She’s built like a little tank, looks like she could fly with those ears, and her tail is a delightfully less-than-normal length. Even the way she sits in her cage is cute! But her looks are only the tip of the iceberg that is her charm. Twistie is easy to handle and attentive. She seems housebroken, and after she relieves herself outside she sometimes does little twistie turns of joy! She loves treats, will eventually “sit” for them, and takes them nicely. When she was checking out the dogs in the pens adjacent to us Twistie seemed interested and waggy. She is friendly, wiggly and after a few minutes she’s cuddly, too! When I sit on the bench she climbs as far into my lap as her little legs will take her, relaxes her mouth into a gremlin-esque smile as I pet her, and even gives kisses. This sweet dumpling is looking for a family to call her own – please come on down to Brooklyn ACC and adopt this treasure!
