12/09/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/09/15 19:04 Behavior during intake: This dog allowed me to pet her on the head, back and legs. The dog had no reaction to treats. She allowed me to collar her and sat for photos. She was a little nervous to leave the room but after coming down to her level, she followed with no issue.

12/12/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: If a gentle, kind, loving, and perfectly behaved dog is your idea of happiness, this is your lucky day! We have found your dog for you in the stunning Turks, who is all white except for a gorgeous dusting of black freckles on her ears. She is divine on a leash, appears housetrained, and timidly wants to please all. When we were walking in the park, two off-leash dogs approached and she was pleased as could be and completely unreactive; it was an equal delight to watch her romp in the backyard off leash with other canine rompers. Turks has everything going for her–everything!–except her forever home… Won’t you please turn those ellipses into a period by making that happen for her?

Another volunteer writes: Shy but friendly it took Turks a short while to warm up before smiling, wagging her tail and getting playful. She’s a stunning girl in her white coat and freckled ears, doing some yoga stretches, sitting between my legs for some petting, and reaching up to give me some kisses. She’s quiet and calm in her kennel, ready to make a new friend and come out for a walk. In group with other dogs she can be a bit anxious, backing away when an overly eager dog approaches. It’s in keeping with her overall demeanor as of this writing as she needs a bit of time to relax. She’s gorgeous, she’s friendly, she’s an absolute delight and she’s waiting for you to stop by and meet her. Do it today!!

12/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Turks came to us as a stray on 12/9/15. She came into the behavior with loose body language, but was cautious when meeting the assessor. She allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items without displaying any signs of aggression. However, Turks did maintain stiff body language throughout the assessment but never escalated to more concerning behaviors. She took the toy away with loose body language and gripped it firmly when the assessor attempted to take it from her. Due the behavior demonstrated on the assessment the behavior team believes that Turks can go to an experienced owner with no children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is a bit tense and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is neutral, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick. Tag: 3. Follows at end of leash with fearful body language and turns quickly towards the assessor’s hand when touched but does not escalate. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog closes mouth, becomes stiff. Flank squeeze 3. Dog closes mouth, begins to purse lips and becomes stiff Flank squeeze 3. Dog closes mouth, and becomes stiff Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-Dog: When off leash with other dogs, Turks is anxious in the yard, allows greeting but growls when the helper dog is more forward with approach.

12/10/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Turks is anxious in the yard, allows greeting but growls when the helper dog is more forward with approach. 12/11 update: Turks backs away when approached and will eventually offer correction to the other dog.
