12/22/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/22/15 12:14 Basic Info: Turbo A1061166 is a 9month old white & brown AMPBT terrier who was given to the owner from a friend a year ago is being surrendered due to the owner having allergies & a grandchild being afraid of him. Turbo hasn’t been to a vet in about 2yrs and currently has no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Turbo is friendly/outgoing. He’s been around a 4yr old child who is afraid of Turbo and stays away from him. Turbo is very exuberant & playful with adults. There is a male 2-3yr old cat in the home that Turbo attempts to play with but the cat is afraid of Turbo’s “energy”. Turbo hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: According to the owner Turbo chews on household items including the walls & the tiles, is hard to control & is thought to be anxious at times. He isn’t bothered by the following: storms/fireworks, having his food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, with being given a bath, or being brushed. He hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting, been held/restrained or had his nails trimmed. When someone unfamiliar comes to the home Turbo will bark. For A New Family to Know: Turbo is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable & anxious with a very high activity level. Turbo loves playing tug. When the owner is home Turbo follows them around. He enjoys bone, rope & a ring toy. Turbo’s a mostly indoor dog who’s walked 2x a day where he pulls hard on the leash. He sleeps in his crate (where he can stay in there up to 3hrs) and eats dry Beneful dog food 3x a day. Turbo isn’t house broken. His known commands are “sit”. Intake Behavior: Turbo barked almost throughout the entire intake process. He has high energy and a very loose wiggly body. He appeared to be anxious and was panting a bit but allowed all handling. Turbo allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning him during his photo session. Turbo walked into the kennel on his own and sat nicely where he continued to bark some more before settling down a bit and laying down.

12/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Turbo came to us as an owner surrender on 12/22/15. It was reported by the owner that Turbo is very playful and very exuberant when interacting with adults. The child in the home was afraid of Turbo so they did not interact. Turbo is reported to have a history of chewing household items such as walls and tiles. He should go to a home that can safely dog-proof these items in the home. We advise future adopters to make sure to provide mentally and physically stimulating toys to keep Turbo occupied when left alone. Turbo seemed to be very anxious and frustrated upon entrance to the behavior room. He was actively pulling the leash from the assessor very strongly throughout the assessment. Turbo appeared to constantly come to try and get closer to the assessor as well. He had stiff body language during both the sensitivity and squeeze test. During the tag interaction on the initial pass Turbo gave a quick growl at the assessor. Turbo was highly uncomfortable throughout the entire assessment and based on the behavior displayed the behavior department believes that Turbo should be placed with a rescue at this time that can provide any positive behavior modification necessary. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 3. Dog is not fearful and is struggling to get away. The dog is not focused and is in constant movement, unconnected to the Assessor. Tag: 5. Dog growls. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog closes mouth, becomes stiff. Flank squeeze 1: 3. Dog closes mouth, begins to purse lips and becomes stiff Flank squeeze 2: 3. Dog closes mouth, begins to purse lips and becomes stiff Toy 1: 3. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is stiff.
