03/18/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: When a dog is quiet in his kennel, sometimes he’s the last to go out as he’s so good. Not fair I know, but Troy was so quiet I took out the loud barky dogs first. Finally his gorgeous looks, and the fact that he was making eyes at me got my attention. As soon as I unlatched the door of his top kennel he climbed into my arms wrapping his paws around my neck. I knew I’d love this dog from that moment on and I do! His gorgeous caramel color coat shows that he clearly enjoyed the benefits of a loving home before being found as a stray. His leash manners are lovely, he’s likely housetrained, and his sweet easy puppy affection made my heart soar. In my lap for some kisses, he can get a bit puppy mouthy but nothing major, and he is a puppy after all and needs to learn about puppy nibbles. He sits for treats taking them with the very edge of his teeth – so gently I don’t feel him on my hand at all. Amazingly calm and well behaved for a pup, Troy is well on his way to being a rockstar grownup. Making friends with people we pass on the street, Troy’s low key personality had them cooing. Troy is compact and gorgeous, hoping to find his new family quickly. Let’s get him home; ask to meet him today.

Troy walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Troy was not interested in toys or rawhide. He was relaxed when approaching a friendly dog, but was not playful. Troy did not show any concern during the behavior assessment.
