07/27/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Incredible, cuddly, perfect, great walker…..Those are the words I read on Trinity’s walking log. Volunteers like to walk her as she is so cute, petite and so easy going, good as well with other dogs met…Basically, a great little pooch to spend time with. Trinity is a very sweet gal and so pretty too. Her ears are her hallmark, moving like antennas in all directions. She is a red head, healthy and well dressed in a beautifully groomed coat. I met her by accident, the day she arrived at the care center. I was bringing back a “hiffy” Rotie to her kennel when Trinity popped out of nowhere..She had escaped her den….She went right for us and sat in front of Cocoa who seemed to like her….I was sweating. Help was on the way but might not have been needed as both girls were quite civil with each other…Trinity does not care for my treats but likes the peanuts I am eating. This is a nono… Thank G–, there is no need for an Epipen…Trinity walks nicely on the leash and seems to be housetrained. Free in a pen, she likes to stay around me, starts to play with a ball but prefers a chase and a game of tag…Upon request, she hops on the bench for a much needed rest and cuddling time. She is a pro…Trinity has an almost perfect behavioral evaluation. I am not surprised ..She is ready to to be your forever best friend…Come and meet her soon at the Manhattan Care Center..
07/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Trinity came to our center as a stray on 7/20/2015. She had a relaxed body and wagging tail upon intake, jumping up for attention. Trinity allowed her head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, tail wag. She leaned in, licking her lips with wagging tail during Sensitivity item. Trinity followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft, settling easily at the end. While positioning for Squeeze, Trinity jumped up to lick assessor’s face playfully. She did not pull her paw back on first Squeeze attempt, but was high energy and movement in between first and second Squeeze, gently pulling paw back on second attempt. Trinity lifted her head when assess-a-hand was applied to her cheek in Food dish. She had minimal interest in Toy and Rawhide. When off leash with other dogs Trinity greets the helper dog but is more interested in exploring her surroundings. The Behavior Team feels Trinity would do well in an Average home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not pull back paw. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw, has high energy and movement in between passes. Food 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. She lifts her head when hand is pushed against her cheek. Toy 1. Minimal interest. Dog smells, licks and mouths, then walks away. Rawhide 1. Minimal interest.
