Helper Dog:A1024540 Travis came into the care center as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Travis became stiff and growled when approached by the assessor. Due to this behavior and safety concerns no handling items were attempted at this time. During the resources portion of the assessment, Travis also became stiff and growled when the assessor attempted to remove the items. During the dog during the dog-dog interaction, Travis had a relaxed body posture with a neutral tail position when approaching the helper dog, appearing interested in interacting. Due to the behavior concerns displayed on SAFER the department recommends placement with a New Hope partner. Food: 4. Dog freezes and growls. Toy 1: 4. Dog freezes and growls. Rawhide: 4. Dog freezes and growls. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches the helper dog, body soft, tail well above spine level, ears forward.
