A volunteer writes: OK – I was nervous, hot and tired. Tonka is a big boy…..I needn’t have worried – he was my best walk of the day!! He’s awesome on leash, likely housetrained, soft and gentle, well behaved, sits when asked to, takes treats gently, gives gentle kisses, greets other dogs appropriately in the park, and boy oh boy oh boy….I’m in love! My rockstar date is an attention getter and some kid yelled out to me, ‘Hey lady, your dog is sexy!”. And, he’s right! Soft and easy, well groomed, easy tail wag, sparkling blue eyes and smiling face – what’s not sexy about that? Everyone wanted to meet my companion and he was happy to make new friends, get some petting and enjoy the attention. Not that it went to his head, he still sat when I asked him to and paid attention when we took more pictures. He’s a superstar! He’s cuddly and easy going, and clearly has been someone’s cherished companion before joining us. He’s tolerant in group with other dogs, but as of this writing has not yet engaged in play. My handsome hunk aced his behavior assessment with his easy going ways indicating he may be a good fit in just about any home. If you’ve got the space for 80 lbs of hunky love, Tonka is hoping you’ll ask him out on a date. You’ll fall in love just like I did.
