06/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tiley came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. It was reported at intake that Tiley was friendly, loose and wiggly towards the counselor and allowed all handling. During SAFER Tiley came into the assessment room with her body relaxed and friendly towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Tiley was distracted during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Tiley was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Tiley appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push her out. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the rawhide. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Tiley offers a wagging tail when greeting at the gate and is interested in interacting with another dog. She offers an appropriate correction to a sexually motivated male.
