06/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
6/30/15 Update At times Tigger can become overaroused and has shown poor impulse control. When aroused, he will jump at handlers and bite at the leash. Tigger can be redirected and is food motivated, making him an excellent candidate for basic manner and impulse control training. He is a high energy dog who requires significant physical and mental stimulation. It is recommended that he be placed into an experienced adoptive or foster home who can provide him with the necessary training and outlets to meet both his physical and mental needs. 6/18/15 SAFER Tigger came into the care center as a stray, so we do not have information on his past behaviors in a home. At intake he was reported to be easy to handle and was very sociable and attention seeking. Tigger was also very sociable during SAFER. He maintained a relaxed body posture for all handling items, and was playful during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Tigger was easy to handle when engaged with the food and toy items, and was not interested in the rawhides. Tigger appears to be sociable and has not shown any behavioral concerns while at the care center, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1.
