A volunteer writes: “Loves to run and swim and be with his family”. This is only the beginning of what Thor’s former family told us about him. He knows ‘sit’ and ‘paw’, is housetrained, is playful with other dogs, lived with three children ages 5-14 and is relaxed, tolerant and playful with them, likes to play tug and chase, sleeps on his own bed, and is afraid of baths and nail trims. Surrendered by the only family he’s ever known as they don’t have time for him, Thor is a gorgeous dog who was hopping up and down in his kennel letting me know he needed to go out. I leashed him and out we flew as he definitely needed to go potty. His coat is lush and gorgeous, his tail wags, he showed me his sit in exchange for a treat which he took gently. He does pull hard on the leash so will benefit from some leash training as he’s a big boy and everyone should enjoy the time together. In the backyard off leash he explored a bit, and when seeing a play group in an adjoining pen his tail wagged and he did a little dance as he wanted to join them. He’s handsome and defines the phrase “bright eyes and bushy tailed”, as his eyes sparkle and his plumed tail is always wagging. A proven family dog, he’s hoping for a new family to swim with this summer…..or maybe just play in the water….He’s young, he’s gorgeous, he’s waiting….
