05/18/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: They say that black dogs often get overlooked in the shelter, but, Teddy got my attention right away! In his kennel, he was bouncing all over the place; his tail was like a windshield wiper on the fastest setting. Dressed in a tuxedo, with his white socks and black polka dots, it appeared he was ready for some sort of black tie affair. But Teddy doesn’t need a fancy gala to entertain himself. Give him a toy and he will stay occupied for hours! I gave him a large squeaky toy that he tossed about, then laid down, placing between his paws and chewed on (but didn’t destroy). As others would walk by, he’d stand and watch them, toy hanging from the side of his mouth. Teddy’s previous owner, having had to surrender him for personal reasons, says that Teddy, or “Ted Boy” as he’s affectionately called, has lived with children ages 2 and up, is respectful and playful towards all. He said he is best with large dogs, and his doggy playgroup information indicates that he plays well with others his size. Teddy appears to be housetrained and, aside from chewing the occasional stinky sock, is said to not be destructive when left home alone. They say there’s always one exception to the rule, and Teddy is it-this black dog is one not to be missed! Come to the Brooklyn Care Center and ask to meet him today!
