04/27/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/27/15 09:11 Tebow was found tied to a tree in the Bronx. Upon being approached by the finder Tebow was happy to see them and jumped on them to greet them with a waggy tail and open mouth. The finder led him to their car and Tebow jumped right in. He was barking and whining a little too much so the finder along with a friend helped put Tebow into a carrier and that’s how he arrived to us. Once here he came right out of the carrier with a loose, wiggly body. He had an open mouth, neutral ears and waggy tail. He was very vocal during intake. Tebow allowed to be scanned (pos), collared and taken pictures of.

A volunteer writes: So gorgeous, and so quiet in a perfect sit in the middle of his kennel waiting for his turn for a walk, I couldn’t resist his handsome face and gentle plea for an outing. Showing off his housetraining skills he pulled hard to get to a place to relieve himself, and may even be somewhat curb trained as the edge of the sidewalk seemed to be his preferred place to ‘go’. Although a bit too thin in my opinion, he’s soft and easy, his tail wags as we walk, and he gently looked up at all the people passing. He sits before being asked, keeps his eye on the treats in my hand making him a photographer’s dream as he made it so easy! Off leash he bounces after a tossed ball and then comes bouncing back to me without it, sitting in front of me clearly expecting another treat. He gets it of course, and takes it so gently. His love for treats and the respectful way in which he takes them will make him easy to train with reward based training as he loves his rewards!!! Easy, calm and gentle, Tebow has a lovely quiet energy and I so enjoyed spending time with him. Some lucky person will get to have a happily ever after with him…..could that lucky person be you?
04/28/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tebow came to our center when police officers found him tied to a tree in the Bronx. He was social and friendly upon intake and allowed all handling. Tebow walked nicely on his relief walk. He held gaze for three full seconds with soft body for Look item. He accepted the touch during Sensitivity item with wagging tail. Tebow was focused on other stimuli during Tag item, unresponsive to the assessor but followed at the end of leash. He required moderate pressure to remove his cheek from the food dish, but did not react aggressively. Tebow had no interest in toy or rawhide. He approached the helper dog with tail at spine level and ears back, quickly approaching socially. The Behavior Team feels Tebow would do well in an Average home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is wagging with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item, lip lick. Tag: 2.
