07/21/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Some may remember the story of Sybil who had multiple personalities and was one of the first cases diagnosed as such. Our Sybil has but one personality and it’s sweet, gentle, affectionate and easy. She’s a gorgeous little girl in her slate gray coat, so quiet in her kennel, standing up letting me know she needed to go out. Likely housetrained she took advantage of being outside in every way, and then showed off lovely leash manners as we took a short walk. Off leash in a pen she explores, coming over to me for hugs and kisses, draping herself on my lap for snuggles. Her gorgeous amber eyes reflect intelligence and love and her gently wagging tail reflects her soft personality. It’s too hot for balls or toys so we simply engage in some loving before heading back inside. Come meet our Sybil; she’ll win your heart in no time as she did mine.
07/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sybil pulls a bit on the leash; she was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, low wag. She remained loose throughout handling. She engages in play, loose body, wags tail, mouth is open. Sybil did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She took the toy away but had soft body language and kept a firm grip on the rawhide with neutral body language. Sybil was brought to the care center as a stray; upon intake she was friendly and continually licked staff’s hands while handling her, she allowed all handing to be conducted with no issue. Throughout the assessment Sybil remained friendly towards the assessor. She would occasionally jump up on the assessor and could benefit from some obedience classes to correct her playful jumping. The Behavior Department feels Sybil can go to an average home. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1.
