SAFER: EXPERIENCED HOME
Helper Dog:A1037400
Suzie Q came into the care center as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Suzie Q was very sociable and attention seeking. She allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and was playful during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Suzy Q was a bit resistant when pushed out of the food bowl, but she lifted her head after a bit of pressure was applied to her cheek. She was not interested in the toy items, and was easy to handle when engaged with the rawhide. Suzy Q did show some concerns on the dog-dog item; rushes in towards the helper dog hard barking and growling. Due to this behavior the department feels Suzy Q would be best suited for an experienced adopter who is able to safely manage and provide behavior modification work to address the behavior displayed.

Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game.
Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back.
Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek.
Toy: 1. No interest.
Rawhide: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish rawhide to you.
Dog-dog: 4. Dog charges the helper dog while growling and hard barking.
