05/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sushi came to our center as a stray. She walked nicely on her relief walk for her SAFER assessment. Sushi allowed assessor to cup her head in assessor’s hands for Look item. She stood still and accepted the touch for Sensitivity with soft body. Sushi followed at the end of the leash for Tag item, but slightly cautious and body a bit low. She settled at the end of game instantly and approached assessor. Sushi pulled her paw out gently with tail down during both Squeeze attempts. She ceased eating and lifted her head when approached with assess-a-hand during Food item, slightly flinchy and unsure of hand. Sushi had minimal interset in toy and was not interested in play. She relinquished rawhide easily. The Behavior Team feels Sushi would do well in an Average home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with low tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is low with relaxed body posture. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body a bit fearful. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push her out. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog may smell or lick, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Dog will relinquish rawhide to you. Dog-to-Dog: Dog is very polite when greeting other dogs. She will offer play bows but also enjoys wandering the yard at the presence of other dogs. She gets along with both male and female dogs.
