12/20/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/20/15 Basic Info Sunny A1061026 is a 5 yr old female gray & white American pit bull mix who was surrendered today due to her family not having enough time for her. Sunny was given to her family as a gift from a friend when she was only a puppy. Socialization Sunny is described as being shy for a few minutes but would slowly approach and greet strangers after some time. Sunny Didnt have much experience with other dogs but did enjoy playtime in the dog park when she finally was able to go. She was described as playing exuberantly and being the “goofy” one in the play group. Sunny did enjoy her play time with her previous family which involved long wrestling matches on the floor. Behavior Sunny enjoyed bath time and all grooming that was done to her. Sunny didn’t show any food guarding behaviors. She allowed family to play with her toys and give her treats which she gently would take from their hands. Sunny wasn’t designated an area in the home to go potty so she does go to the bathroom indoors. When left alone for long periods of time she would go after the furniture and other household items. For a New Family to Know Sunny is described as being shy but would be a big “cuddle bug” when she became comfortable around someone new. She was described as being relaxed indoors but would have a very high activity level outside. Sunny enjoys games involving fetch and tug in the park. She is currently eating pedigree dry& wet food. On a leash she does pull and is not housebroken. During Intake Sunny had a tense body with ears pushed back. When first approached with the scanner she began to bark and retreat with tail tucked. She was scanned (-) when approached with the rope leash she barked again and retreated. Once on the leash her posture became a bit more relaxed with ears remaining back but tail in a neutral position. She was collared and photographed. On the leash she pulled slightly and was led and placed into the van for transport.

12/22/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Rubenesque. Pleasantly plump. Fed with love giving us more to love! Sunny is a gorgeous girl, surrendered by the only family she has ever known as they no longer have time to care for her. We’re told she’s shy for a few minutes but warms up nicely and is friendly to all. When she had the opportunity to go to the dog park she played exuberantly with the other dogs, and at home loved playing “wrestling” with family members. Like most of us girls she loves baths and being groomed, and is a big “cuddle bug”. We’re told she isn’t housetrained, but when Sunny and I went for a walk she went potty immediately outside so she seems to know what to do and will probably need some positive reinforcement training to hone her skills. She’s a smart girl so will learn what she needs to learn. As other dogs approached our pen her tail wags happily in greeting. Sunny joined me on the bench for a quick kiss before hopping down again to greet other dogs coming into the yard. I had to leave her in a pen for a few minutes and she was quiet and patiently waited for my return. Sunny is handling this monumental change in her life as best she can. We’re rooting for the next change in her life to be a new family to love. A proven family dog she’s hoping a new family will make her theirs. She happily shared her toys with her previous family, and is looking forward to sharing her toys and love with a new family. Calm, relaxed, sweet and fun….meet Sunny today.

When off leash with other dogs, Sunny is initially anxious, then approaches and greets the helper dog with a small wag. She continues to show interest in approaching and greeting.
