04/12/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: “That’s a sweet face”! It’s hard not to be charmed by Sugar, a wisp of a dog with a sweet but shy smile. A lovely walker on leash, she’s a dear who stays close and solicits smiles from passers-by; she’s also a love who will offer furtive kisses when caressed. Surrendered by the only family she has ever known, Sugar is a bit timid at the moment but there are glimpses of her playful side when she is momentarily engaged with a soft stuffed toy. For her new family, we’re told that Sugar is house-trained and crate-trained, and knows to “sit”. She also loves to play, gets along with children and strangers, and is alert around animals outside her household. At the park, she passed other dogs nicely and stayed quietly by my side as other dogs passed by us. It’s hard not to be compelled by Sugar, with her endearing and engaging ways that tug gently at your heartstrings. Won’t you be her hero today?
