04/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Storm came to us as a stray on 4/10/15. Upon intake it was reported that Storm was very excited, but allowed all handling. She was very easily handled and allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile items of the assessment without displaying any signs of aggression. She showed some concerning behavior during the food bowl test – stiffening and growling, but did not snap at or bite the assess-a-hand. Storm proved easy to handle when chewing on the toy item, and only displayed minimal interest in the rawhide on this portion of the assessment. The behavior department believes that Storm will do best if placed in a home with an experienced owner, and no small children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. She indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Dog licks hand. Food: 4. Dog growls. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest. Dog smells, licks and mouths, then walks away. Dog-Dog: When off leash with other dogs, Storm is very social, offering play bows to male and female dogs.
