A volunteer writes:
Stitch and Lilo came to us as their owners were evicted…Stitch is a pretty cinnamon bun with sparkling eyes and a spongy squeezable  red nose. She is very welcoming in her kennel, wagging non stop her tail. She is eager to come out and does her business at once, slowing her pace afterward. Stitch is one hungry caterpillar. She is not skin and bones, though but her swollen mammary glands and round belly tell me that she might have been recently a mom or on the way to become one. Your guess is as good as mine. After depleting my bag of goodies….Stitch is now my devoted friend, sitting at my feet or laying on her back for belly rubs…She is just adorable and so lively, barely sick with a cold and so happy to be in company. I was sorry to put her back but made sure it was on a very thick comforter and with a long lasting chewy. Miss Stitch is at the Manhattan Care Center. I so hope that soon enough, she will be safe and happy with her family or another if going back to her former home is not in the cards…
