A volunteer writes: Her ears are like bat wings pinned to the top of her head, her teeth often get stuck in her lip, and her eyes are gold beacons of light glimmering from a coat so white that her former owner had to put baby sunscreen on her to protect her skin. What darling could I be talking about? Brooklyn’s own, shining STAR! This 10 month puppy is so delightful, that I couldn’t stop saying how much I loved her, asking every staff member if they’d met her yet. Needless to say, she made quite an impression on me! She walks pleasantly on the leash, sits on command, or for a treat and seems like she’s had housetraining. When you don’t give her snacks fast enough, she lets out a little bark, letting you know it’s time for another. Her former owner said that little Star is possibly deaf and it seems she knows some commands through hand signals. Star has lived harmoniously with a cat and is good with strangers. She still shows her puppy streaks at times, drinking from the toilet or getting into garbage. But she doesn’t have any issues with her food or toys being touched. Star is just a young puppy, that is ready for more training, a lot of playtime, and an endless amount of love. Can you offer her all three?
