06/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Spotty was extremely fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Spotty was fearful with a stiff, trembling body when the assessor first attempted to perform the Look item, she would not allow her head to be held in the assessors hand and continually gave whale eye. She accepted the touch for sensitivity but was stiff and fearful. She followed the assessor in a crouched position during tag and was unresponsive when touched. Spotty had no interest in food, toy, or rawhide. Spotty was surrendered to the care center due to personal reasons; upon intake she growled when being taken into the center. Spotty is nervous and trembling throughout the assessment and has a crouched body posture, continually licking a giving the assessor whale eye. The behavior department advises that future adopters should be able to provide positive experiences for Spotty. In addition, we recommend that introductions are done slowly, and Spotty be given the opportunity to interact at their own pace. The Behavior Department believes Spotty would do best in an experienced home; If there are children in the home an in-depth interaction should be conducted. Look: 3. Dog lip licks repeatedly, body stiff and fearful, gives whale eye, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, lip licks. Tag: 2.
