I am a male gray and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/07/2015 from NY 11434, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

Spot was very friendly, and energetic during intake. He allowed me to pet him and play with him with a toy ball. He also demonstrated that he knows the command sit. Spot allowed all handling, and showed no signs of aggression during intake.

06/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Spot came into the care center as a stray, so we are unaware of his past behaviors in a home setting. At intake Spot was reported to be very friendly, and energetic when interacting with the counselors. He allowed all handling and was it was noted that Spot demonstrated that he knows the command sit. During SAFER Spot maintained a relaxed body posture when interacting with the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conduct without issue, and was playful during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Spot was easy to handle when engaged with the food item, allowing the assessor to easily push him out of the food bowl, and he only showed minimal interest in the toys and rawhides. Spot appears to very sociable and has not shown any behavioral concerns, so the department feels Spot can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. He lifts his head when hand is pushed against his cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog sniffs, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog sniffs, then turns away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Spot shows some sexually motivated behavior but is generally polite and tolerant when interacting

When off leash with other dogs, Spot is polite when greeting at the gate and is tolerant when greeted. He exhibits some slight sexual motivation and explores the yard. 6/10 Update Spot shows some sexually motivated behavior but is generally polite and tolerant when interacting 6/11 Update Spot continues to be tolerant when interacting with other dogs
