03/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Spidey previously lived with two adults and one small child, and was reported to be good with children, but always has very high energy. The previous owner mentioned that Spidey does not get along with cats, and when around other dogs he is highly energetic /aroused in his play, but will bark and growl at other dogs when on leash. It was also mentioned that Spidey will growl and play tug of During Intake Spidey was reported to be very high energy and was cooperative for most handling but rolled on his back when being collared. During SAFER Spidey was socially engaged with the assessor, and allowed all handling items without issue. During the tag interaction Spidey engaged in play and was easily over aroused and very vocal, but his body was soft. He did become stiff when being pushed out of the food bowl during the food test, and was also stiff when taking the rawhide away. When chewing on the toy item, Spidey held a firm grip and play growled with loose body language. Although Spidey was reported to be good with children, His energy level may be too much for smaller children, and The behavior Department feels Spidey would be best suited for an experienced adopter with no small children, and it is recommend that during feeding, and while chewing on treats, Spidey should be kept separated from children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1.
