With a frumpy face that reminded me of my Aunt Lotte, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this peanut of a little girl. Teeny, tiny, she’s a total sweetheart, playing with a toy, giving me kisses with her paws in my lap, greeting a dog quietly through the fence, and just being a sweet little girl. Her big floppy ears frame an all too serious face and I just want to schmushit! She’s likely housetrained, going the moment we’re out the door, has amazing leash manners, is low key and I know I keep coming back to it – she’s adorable! She may not have much experience in the big wide world, getting a little nervous as some big trucks rumbled by on 1st
Avenue, but she’s young and like all ‘kids’, just needs exposure to what the world is all about. She sat before I asked her to when she saw my treats, got the zoomies at one point for a minute and is just too cute! Initially very shy when she first joined us, she’s opening up quickly and is ready to find her new family to help her become the rockstar adult dog she’s destined to be. Seriously….how can anyone resist that face – I couldn’t…and I’ll take bets that you can’t either!

Sourdough makes herself tiny in her arrival kennel. She watches me carefully and warily. It takes me a few tries before I can fasten my leash around her neck. We head for the yard where she takes immediately refuge under a bench. She is really cute and petite. A puppy still at Eight months of age. So cute with her giant shell like ears, so well made, so well dressed in her perfect cinnamon coat and so serious looking. She makes a pout, a sulky face. She is so worried. Treats very quickly shake off her fears… Sourdough is all eyes, all ears and all nose, ready to gulp down the good stuff that will make her grow. She runs at the call of her given name, sits, stays, gets petted all over with a stop on my lap for kisses and hugs. The perfect pussycat. Where is my timid little girl? Sourdough is a pretty youngster shaken up by her abandonment but rapidly capable to fall back on her feet and make the best of her new situation. Hopefully a few more days at the care center, more outings and meeting with other dogs will make her feel all better and ready too be in with you as your forever best friend. Come and meet Sourdough soon at the Manhattan Care Center.
