06/13/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
Sour Patch is a 4 1/2 year old neutered AMPBT who was given to the owner a year & a half ago by someone who didn’t want Sour Patch because he was “not mean enough”. Sour Patch is being surrendered due to the owner and his family no longer having time for him and going through some difficulties. He was last seen by a veterinarian in may of 2014 and he currently has a growth on his left hind leg since march but the owner hadn’t had the time to get it checked. Sour Patch is friendly/outgoing with strangers. His play style with adults and children (Sour Patch has spent time with a 4yr old) is gentle, exuberant & playful, sometimes he’ll ignore the child if not playing with him. Sour Patch hasn’t lived with dogs or cats but when he sees a dog on the street he wants to play with them and when he sees cats he stares at them and will chase them. Sour Patch has never bitten or scratched any person or animal. Sour Patch has no behavior problems/issues. He isn’t bothered by storms/fireworks. Sour Patch isn’t bothered by the following: having his food/food bowl touched/moved while he’s eating, having his toys/treats taken away, being moved off of furniture, being given a bath, being brushed or being held/restrained. Sour Patch is taken to the groomers to have his nails trimmed and his ears cleaned. When someone approaches the owner or home Sour Patch greets them happily and wants to make friends and play with them. Sour Patch is friendly, affectionate, playful, confident & very independent. His activity level is described as high, he loves to run free and be outside (he comes when called). The owner would take him to the basketball courts at night and let him off leash. Their favorite thing about Sour Patch is how loving and affectionate he is. They believe he thinks he’s a lap dog he loves to lay his head on your lap and try to lay himself on your chest as you’re relaxing or sleeping. When the owner is home Sour Patch will follow them. He loves ball & rope toys. He’s mostly an indoor dog who’s walked briskly 2x a day for 20-30mins each time & he’ll pull on the leash sometimes. Sour Patch sleeps in his crate or near someone. Sour Patch eats dry Beneful 1x a day in a large quantity. He’s very house trained and is well behaved when left home alone. His known commands are “sit”, “stay”, “come here” & “eat”. Sour Patch loved being dotted on by the admissions staff. He had a loose wiggly body and allowed us scan (pos.), collar him and take his pictures.
06/18/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Sour Patch is anything but sour, and if a picture speaks a thousand words then the blurred tail in every single photo of this handsome boy tells you all you need to know — he is one happy dude!!! Given to his previous owner by someone who didn’t want him because he wasn’t ‘mean enough’, Sour Patch is a family-friendly pet surrendered because his family is going through some difficulties and no longer has the time to care for him as he deserves. He adores playing with toys, racing around the yard and getting all up in my business when I sit down on a bench and we’re told his usual play style with both adults and children (he has spent time with a four-year-old) is gentle yet exuberant. When Sour Patch sees another dog on the street he wants to play with them too, and during our walk he makes the cutest little whines to let me know just how he feels. A strong leash puller who’ll playfully jump up on his favorite people, Sour Patch is definitely an active, rough’n’tumble kind of dog, but everything he does is done with a whole lot of love and his eagerness for treats ensures you’ll have no trouble motivating him to learn new tricks! Affectionate, playful, confident and independent, Sour Patch loves to get his zoomie on and run free off-leash, but at the end of the day he’s all about lazy times and lap snuggles. He’s used to sleeping in a crate, knows his commands for sit, stay, come, and eat, aced his behavior assessment, and as if all that wasn’t enough, he’s already neutered and ready to walk out the door immediately! This guy is Fun with a capital F, and he’d love to show you just how great the ‘dog days of summer’ can be. Give your family a reason to smile all year round, adopt sweet Sour Patch today!
