A volunteer writes:
Snead..a weird name for a cute little  girl who is not at all crazy or silly…Cute as a button, tiny as can be, shiny as a nickel, shy as a mouse…This is Snead, a little girl, abandoned for us to find and present to you as a forever best friend. She is a blank canvas. She knows very little as I think that she never left the premises of an apartment or basement. She has not met the world and probably had little contact with people or other dogs…Her nose leads her to my treats. She is one hungry little bear but does not guard her food or anything for the matter. She discovered caresses and what a lap is, right here at the Manhattan Care Center and she kind of likes it…She does walk well on the leash, surprisingly and is not mouthy or playing with the rope. She is shy in playgroups although I know, that in no time, being a “good” youngster, she will mingle and play with her peers. Snead is a pretty black orchid. Her face reminds me of a Great Dane, a tiny one, of course. I doubt she will be very big and is the perfect apartment size. If you feel and are able to bring up a puppy and lead her to great Dogwood, come and meet out Snead. She is waiting and dreaming of her new life ..with you

For more information on adopting from the NYC AC&C, or to find a rescue to assist, please read the following: http://information.urgentpodr.org/adoption-info-and-list-of-rescues/

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email [email protected]

Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.

*We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
