06/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Smokey’s owner stated that Smokey is relaxed around children and can be gentle but is somewhat during play with them. He was also reported to be relaxed around dogs and is also somewhat rough during play. The owner noted that Smokey is mostly house trained and rarely has accidents indoors. His activity level was said to be a medium and his owner describes him as playful and friendly. His owner also stated he is well behaved when left alone in the yard, and he can become nervous of loud noises such as thunder and fireworks. At intake Smokey was reported to be attention seeking and had a loose body posture for all handling. During SAFER Smokey did not solicit attention, but his body remained loose for all handling items as well as the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Smokey was not interested in the food, and was easy to handle when engaged with the toys, and only showed minimal interest in the rawhides. Smokey appears to be sociable and has not shown any behavioral concerns while in the care center, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter. Look: 1.
