09/23/15 18:41 Basic Information Sisi is a 10 year old black and white spayed Pomeranian mix that came in today as an owner surrender. Owner stated that his mother, who is the primary care taker of Sisi, is very ill and can no longer care for her. Sisi recently received all of her shots and owner provided paper work that stated so. She does have a cataract in her left eye. Social Life & Personality Sisi is relaxed and playful with both children and other dogs. However, owner stated that she does not get along well with cats and barks every time she sees them. She is not aggressive and has never bitten or scratched another animal or person. She is house-trained and near has accidents in the house. She has a doggie door to the yard that she uses whenever she needs to potty. She has a low activity level. Owner described her as being playful, confident, affectionate, mellow and friendly. Behavior Issues Owner stated that Sisi does bark a lot. Other than that, she displays no behavior issues. She’s fine with being left home alone and is friendly with strangers and house visitors. Owner stated that she does bark when someone new arrived to the house but she does not attempt to bite or scratch them. She does not mind baths. For a New Family to Know Sisi understands commands in both Spanish and English. For exercise she has play time in the yard. She enjoys playing with squeaky dog toys and games such as fetch and tug. When home, Sisi tends to follow owner around the house but she is also not bothered with being left alone in the house. She eats dry food and sleeps on a rug underneath the night table. Upon intake, Sisi was relaxed and displayed no signs of behavior issues. She allowed herself to be collard and photographed.

Sisi previously lived with 1 adult and has been around children and dogs, she is relaxed and playful with both children and other dogs. The owner stated Sisi does not get along with cats. It was reported by the owner Sisi is house trained, well behaved when home alone and she has a low activity level. The owner described Sisi as being playful, confident, affectionate, mellow and friendly. At intake it was reported Sisi was relaxed and allowed all handling. During SAFER Sisi came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, she was friendly towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Sisi was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Sisi was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Sisi appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter with no cats in the household. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is down, body tense, and trembles. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Inconclusive, dog is not eating. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Sisi is tolerant of interaction but is more interested in interacting with the handlers.
