09/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Coco came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Coco was calm and relaxed, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Coco came into the assessment room nervous and timid, this behavior was maintained when entering the behavior assessment room. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Coco head flipped and tried to bite the assessor on the Look item. During this portion of the assessment on food and rawhide items she bit the assess-a-hand when attempting to remove the items away and on toy item she bared her teeth. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5. Dog freezes and tries to bite. Food: 5. Dog tries to bite. Toy: 4. Dog freezes and bare teeth. Rawhide: 5. Dog attempts to bite.
