07/24/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
Sheba A1045219 is a 5yr old female white AMPBT Mix who was bought off a friend selling puppies when she was 2months old. Sheba is being surrendered due to the owner having personal problems and moving into a building that doesn’t allow animals. Sheba has no known injuries/illnesses and hasn’t been to a veterinarian since 2013. Sheba is fearful/nervous and at times towards strangers. If she’s never seen/met you she’ll bark, growl or lunge at you. Sheba has lived with children ages 9yrs, 12yrs & 13yrs old and is relaxed/playful and plays gently/exuberantly with them, she’s the same way with adults and the female Chihuahua she used to live with. Sheba barks and lunges at cats she sees in the street. Sheba has never bitten/scratched a person or animal. If someone takes too long to take her out or let her out into the yard Sheba will urinate indoors. If the garbage isn’t out of Sheba’s reach she’ll get into it. During thunderstorms/fireworks Sheba is nervous she’ll go and hide in the owner’s bedroom in her crate. Sheba isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, treats, toys touched/moved, being given a bath or being brushed (she enjoys it). While being held/restrained Sheba will bark, also when someone knocks on the home’s door or approaches the family sometimes she’ll growl. Sheba wasn’t allowed on the furniture. Sheba doesn’t allow the owner to trim her nails, she’ll keep moving her paws away until they give up. Sheba is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable, aloof, fearful, anxious (at times with strangers). Her activity level is high. The owner’s favorite thing about Sheba is how playful/affectionate she is with the children. Sheba’s favorite activity is running. When the owner is home Sheba follows them around. She enjoys basketball, rope toys. She’ll play tug. Sheba is an indoor/outdoor dog, who sleeps where ever she wants. She eats dry Puppy Chow dog food 3x a day. Sheba is mainly housetrained. Sheba is placed in her kennel when visitors she’s never met come over. Her known command is “sit”. Sheba is walked 4-5x a day for about 15-20mins each time, she doesn’t pull on the leash unless she sees a cat. Due to owner stating Sheba isn’t friendly with strangers they scanned (-), collared and assisted with getting her picture taken and placing her into a kennel. During her stay she “went” in her kennel and we were able to take her out to clean and she stood waiting while barking.
