04/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sheba previously lived with adults and children of ages 10-16 years old, and she was said to be tolerant of the children in the household although interaction with them was minimal. Sheba also lived with another dog and only has interacted when being walked together. The owner stated Sheba is very playful and energetic, and was said to have an activity level is to a medium. Sheba was reported to be housebroken as well as crate trained, and if left out loose in the home the owner stated Sheba can be destructive to household items. At intake it was noted that Sheba was sociable towards the Admissions counselors and allowed all handling. During SAFER Sheba was excitable, and sociable, but was more interested in her surroundings. She did all handling items without issue, but she did demonstrate a low threshold to arousal during the tag item, resulting in consistently body checking the assessor. Sheba did not show any concerning behaviors during the food and toy items, and she was not interested in the rawhides. The Behavior Department feels Sheba’s high energy, strength, and low threshold to arousal may be too intimidating for children, so an experienced adopter with no children that is able to provide her with appropriate outlets for her energy is recommended.
