11/20/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Eclipse previously lived with 1 adult and has interacted with the owner’s seven year old nephew. The owner stated Eclipse is very relaxed and play exuberant during play. The owner describes Eclipse as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, mellow, independent, and friendly. It was reported by the owner Eclipse is housetrained, crate trained up to 8 hours and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Eclipse was very hyper with loose body posture, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Eclipse came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and very playful towards the assessor, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Eclipse growled at the assessor on tag interaction. During this portion of the assessment on toy item she settle close firm, loose and wiggly. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, and open mouth. Tag: 5. Dog growls. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Eclipse is energetic and attempts to solicit play. She engages in rough, running play and can be a bit pushy when playing.
