06/05/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
Basic Information Savana is a 10 month old female pitbull who came into AC&C with her owner, who is surrending because they are moving and unable to have her in their new residence. Savana doesn’t appear to have any health issues. Socializiation Savana has been around children, adults, and other dogs. She is very playful and will initiate play with all others. Savana is still in the process of being trained and is described to be very excited in any new environment, so she is very hyper when approaching others. She is known to jump on adults, but will play gently with children. When playing with other dogs, she loves to play fight but will not be aggresive. Behavior Savana is still in the process of being house trained, therefore, she is still having accidents in the home. The owner reported that her accidents occur every few days. She is either going on wee-wee pads or outside on grass otherwise. Savana will also tear up anything she can get a hold of, as described by the owner. Despite her high energy, Savana is calm and relaxed during most handling. She isn’t bothered when food or toys are taken away and is tolerant when moved or restrained. She will bark when strangers come into the home. For A New Family to Know Savana is described as an affectionate, playful, and friendly dog. She has lots of energy and loves to run, go for walks, and play with others. She is very active while leashed, oten pulling and running. Savana enjoys playing chase, fetch, and tug as well as relaxing by her owner’s side. She is in the process of being crate trained and is currently in the crate for up to 6 hours every day. When at home, Savana will often play with her toys which include squeaky toys and bones, and is usually with her owner. She eats dry food, preferring Bentiful, and enjoys Beef Strips for a treat. She sleeps in the crate mostly, and will be welcomed into her owner’s bed when she’s had a calmer day. Savana would do well in a home where she can get lots of attention for playing and proper training as well as space to run around.

06/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Savvana was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, loose and wiggly body, tries to stay close. She was very loose and wiggly throughout handling. She engages in play, loose body, wags tail, mouth is open. Savanna had no interest in food or rawhide and took away the toy with a loose, wiggly body. Savvana was surrendered to the care center due to her family moving. She is described as an affectionate, playful, and friendly dog with a lot of energy. Her previous owner reported she is playful with strangers and is known to jump up on adults but will play gently with children. It was also stated that she isn’t bothered when food or toys are taken away and is tolerant when moved or restrained. She remained friendly toward the assessor throughout the assessment and allowed for all handling to be completed with ease. The Behavior Department believes Savvana can go to an average home and will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for her energy. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1.
