PROFILE:
Basic Information: Sasha is 6 year old altered female Min Pincher. She was given as a gift to owner. Owner stated she appeared to be healthy. Owner surrenders Sasha because of neighbor complaints.
Social Life & Personality: Sasha lived with two adults and been around 17 and 1 year old. Owner stated Roscoe is distance and tolerant towards the children in the household. Sasha lived with another dog name Roscoe A1055653, owner stated Sasha is playful towards the other dog but somewhat rough. Owner stated that there not when it comes to other dog she will bark and become anxious. Her behavior is unknown towards cats. She’s mostly indoors and activity level is very high. Owner Sasha fearful and mellow.
Behavior Issues: Sasha has bitten someone 2 months ago owner stated. She is protective towards the 17 year old room and growls and snaps at anyone who tries to come inside but never broke skin. She barks too much and destroys socks. Sasha growls at owner when her food bowl is touched while eating and take toys and treats away from his mouth. She’s afraid of taking baths and being brushed. Sasha barks at unfamiliar people approaching the house or family member.
For New Family to Know: Sasha is trained to use the bathroom indoors on piddle pads and outside on walks. Sasha goes for walks twice a day on a leash. The only only command Sasha knows is be quiet and just don’t listen to other commands owner stated. Sasha likes to play with stuffed toys like teddy bears. Sasha is crate trained and is well behaved when home alone. Sasha likes to stay in her favorite spot. She eats moist and meaty wet food and dry food called puppy chow.
Upon intake: Sasha was barking at other dogs and show teeth. She was nervous and attempt to snap when being handled. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed limited handling.
BEHAVIOR: EXPERIENCED NO CHILD
Sasha previously lived with two adults, another dog and has been around 17 and 1 year old. The owner stated Sasha is protective towards the 17 year she would growl and snaps at anyone who tries to come inside the room. The owner mentioned Sasha is playful towards the other dog but somewhat rough and he also destroys socks. It was reported by the owner Sasha has a very high activity level, well behaved when home alone, house trained and crate trained. The owner mentioned Sasha previously bitten someone 2 months ago but didn’t brake skin. It was also reported Sasha would growl if the owner touches her food bowl while she is eating or taking toys and treats away.
At intake it was reported Sasha was nervous and attempt to snap when being handled, limited handling was conducted at this time. During SAFER Sasha came into the assessment room very fearful and timid, she was not interested with the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Sasha was fearful and unresponsive during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Sasha was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Sasha is very fearful, timid and uncomfortable around strangers. Due to some concerns stated from the previous owner, the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children.
Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body tense, mouth closed.
Tag: 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, and lip licks.
Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back.
Food: 1. Inconclusive dog is not eating.
Toy: 1. No interest.
Rawhide: 1. No interest.
Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, and exits.
