03/18/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Classic elegance, timeless style and good looks, that’s our Sabrina. So quiet in her arrival kennel, she’s a bit shy being leashed but happy to be finally out to go potty. Her leash manners are excellent, her latte color coat lush and groomed, and she has perfect ladylike manners. I laughed at her as she carefully stepped around a puddle as we walked; most dogs would have either walked through it, or jumped over it. Such a lady and such grace! We stopped to talk to some people walking a large dog, and she gently stood by my side patiently waiting as I chatted. So calm, so easy, so perfect, I couldn’t have asked for more. Off leash in a pen, she’ll forget for a moment that she’s shy and nervous and jumps up on the bench to give me gentle kisses. She’s so sweet. I pace the pen as I take notes, Sabrina gently following me as I walk. When a staffer comes in to chat, Sabrina sits by my side, looking like she is totally engrossed in my conversation. I fell in love with Sabrina, her soft good looks, soft personality and easy manner. I know you will too when you meet her. It’s Spring and love is in the air……start the season with Sabrina at your side.

03/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sabrina walks calmly on leash. She was not sociable, and was more interested in the surroundings than the handler during the assessment. She accepts the handling but was whining and tries to get away from the handler during the first try and then she approaches to the handler. Sabrina becomes extremely frightened during the tag interaction, tail tucked, yelping and trying to exit room. She did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Sabrina was not interested in toys or rawhide. She approaches the helper dog with his tail at spine level, ears relaxed, lip long. Sabrina during the assessment became very uncomfortable during the tag interaction also she shows some anxiety behavior turning her head away, ears back, very rapid panting and whining . The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. We also recommend a home without children Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 4. Dog panics with vocalization combined with tail tuck, yelping and repeatedly trying to exit Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body calm and relaxed. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog – dog 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip long or neutral. Helper: A1030512
