A volunteer writes: Curled up in a ball in his kennel, Rudy looks at me with wide eyes as I unlatch his door. I had been told by staff who like him that he’s sweet, shy and understandably scared in this new noisy place that isn’t home. Surrendered by his family as they are moving we’re told that he’s great with children, and plays/responds appropriately by age, being gentler with younger kids. That’s impressive!! They also tell us he’s always happy and mellow. Rudy is a gorgeous dog; his coat is well groomed, soft and lush, his face sweet and from time to time his tail wags when he feels safe. He
curls right in for petting, and flops onto his back for a belly rub. Off leash in a pen he explores gently, tuning in to street sounds and perking up when he hears voices…perhaps wondering if that’s his family….When I asked him if he wanted to go for a walk his tail wagged and we leashed right up and headed out. He’s likely housetrained going potty as soon as we were out the door, and in the park sat next to me when I took some notes. He’s incredibly camera shy so you may have to take my word for how good looking he is. In play group he greets other dogs politely, his tail wagging gently and is social with both males and females. Rudy is neutered and needs to find a new family to love……gentle, mellow, calm and submissive, he’s hoping you’ll stop by to meet him today.
