08/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A 1046078 Rocky came in as an owner surrender, but there was limited information giving. Rocky previously lived with 1 adult and another dog. The owner stated Rocky has been exposed to children and does well with them. During SAFER Rocky came into the assessment room a bit fearful and curious of his surroundings, he was friendly towards the assessor with a slow approach, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Rocky was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Rocky was easy to handle when engaged with the items. During dog to dog interaction Rocky rushed in towards the helper dog baring his teeth and growling at the helper dog. Rocky has been showing fearful behavior, we cannot be certain if behavior may be suppressed as a result of the shelter environment. Please note that behavior may change when Rocky is more comfortable and settled in a home environment. In addition, we recommend that introductions are done slowly, and Rocky be given the opportunity to interact at his own pace. The behavior department feels rocky can be suitable for an experience adopter with no other dogs in the household. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push him out. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 4. Dog charges the helper dog while growling or attempting to bite.
08/12/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Due to his score on his SAFER, Rocky is muzzled for his interaction. He allows brief greeting but will growl when the helper dog attempts to sniff his face.
08/09/2015 INITIAL PHYSICAL EXAM
Medical rating was 2 NC – MINOR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, behavior rating was NONE
scan positive: 985112000141404 neutered male weight: 41.4lbs bright eyes clean ears clean coat slight staining to teeth along with some gingivitis nails down to kwick overall body condition is good very tense and nervous but sweet once he is adjusted – when an ACT walked by and was trying to interact with him (male ACT), Rocky growled and became protective – not sure if this is due to the fact that the person was a male or the fact that the person had a hat on APH BARH NOSF
