04/25/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/25/15 14:36 Rocky lived with an elderly woman. He stayed inside most of the time. His owner passed away a few months ago and family members have been feeding him in the apartment. Now, they have to vacate it. Rocky is wee-wee pad trained. He’s friendly with his family and people he’s met before, but is shy the first time he meets someone. Rocky was tense and panting with a low body during intake. He sat behind family friends’ legs. He retreated a little at first but allowed them to pick up, scan (negative), collar, carry, and place him in a kennel. He allowed me to pet him and touch his feet. He sat at the front of his kennel. When I returned and opened his kennel, he growled and snapped repeatedly with most of his teeth visible.

04/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rocky walks with a fearful body language. He became uncomfortable during the look item he was holding eye contact with a stiff body language, tucked tail, shows his teeth and gives a low growl. For safety reason we decided to skip the handling part of the assessment. During the resources Rocky was not interested in food, toy and rawhide. He does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 5. Dog freezes and growls Food. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits.
