04/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rocky came to us as owner surrender on 4/24/15. Due to Rocky’s medical condition and owner surrender feedback the behavior department only conducted a partial assessment. The previous stated that Rocky is sensitive to handling and does not like strangers to become overly familiar when petting. In addition the owner stated that Rocky may become agitated when some people touch him. This behavior may be attributed to Rocky’s medical condition, which is why the Behavior Department suggest Rocky go to a rescue that can treat Rocky’s condition, and then evaluate his behavior after treatment. The resource portion of the assessment was conducted. Rocky was only a bit difficult to move away from the food bowl with the assess-a-hand, but showed no signs of aggression. He showed no interest in the toy or rawhide items. Rocky rushed in quickly during the dog interaction with confident body language but showed no aggression. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body soft. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches the helper dog by rushing in with slightly stiff body language, tail well above spine level, ears forward.
