04/01/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/01/15 15:43 BASIC INFO Rocky’s family adopted him from AC&C 4 days ago. They returned him because he bit some of them. PEOPLE Rocky lived with 2 adults and 4 teenagers (15+). He followed the adult woman everywhere she went. He bit the other 5 members of the family, breaking skin with one person, the adult man. Some of the bites occurred when a family member that he hadn’t met yet entered the home. Other times, he was soliciting their attention/jumping up on them/playing in their lap when he bit without noticeable warning (he had loose wiggly body prior to biting). He followed the adult woman away when she called him. His family reports that he’s always friendly and easy for any of them to handle when they put his leash on and take him for a walk. He’s just very happy about his walks. ANIMALS Rocky lived with an 11 year old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix. He was sometimes relaxed around her. He nipped her (no broken skin) a few times when she walked by or when they found a crumb on the floor. He also guarded his favorite family member from her, lunging and growling if she approached. PERSONALITY Rocky’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, and high activity. He follows his primary owner everywhere. He likes to bury himself in blankies. HABITS Rocky lived inside and slept in his crate. He ate wet Little Caesar food. He went for slow-brisk walks. TRAINING Rocky is house/paper trained and doesn’t have accidents. He potties both outside and on wee-wee pads. He did well in a covered pop-up crate with classical music on for 8 hours at a time. He was crated at night and when home alone. BEHAVIOR Rocky doesn’t mind when someone takes his food/treat/toy. He doesn’t mind when his primary owner moves him off furniture but would probably bite others. He charges and bites strangers that approach his home/family. INTAKE Rocky sometimes sniffed, jumped up, and stood against me with loose wiggly body and wagging tail. Other times, especially when I re-entered the room, he stood in front of his owner and barked and growled at me. He often climbed into their laps and snuggled against them, with a wiggly body and wagging tail. He walked with me. He was tense but allowed a technician to pick him up, collar him, and put him in a kennel.

03/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rocky was a bit difficult to remove from his kennel with a fearful at the back of the kennel. Once he was out Rocky walks with a fearful body language. He was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body, but trying to stay close. Rocky was shy and nervous and trembled during handling, with stiff body language. He becomes extremely frightened during the tag interaction, tail tucked, yelping and trying to exit room. Rocky was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. Rocky does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter. This dog is fearful and needs time to warm up. We also recommend a home without children he needs an adopter that can provide a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. His body posture is stiff and fearful; his tail is low and not moving. he allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 3.
