11/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rocks came to us as a stray with a previous bite history. We do not have much information on how the bite occurred or what might have caused it. Rocks pulled very strongly when taking out of his kennel and bringing to the behavior room. He had soft body language when entering the behavior, and seemed very anxious. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items without displaying any signs of aggression. Rocks did seem to be conflicted during certain SAFER items, and at points had tense body language like during the squeeze test, but never escalated to a snap or grow. He did mouth the leash pretty strongly, and jumped on the assessor very strongly but was able to de-escalate quickly. The behavior department believes that Rocks would do best with an experienced adopter with no children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, lick lips, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Quickly becomes aroused on tag jumps on assessor very strongly, mouths leash, but de-escalates quickly. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog quickly back his paw. Hard stares at the assessor’s hand Squeeze 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Body a bit tense.
