10/30/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Robin is a sidekick’s name, and this lady is the perfect one! She is petite with the sweetest face, equipped with the perfect amount of jowls. She sometimes barks for attention in her cage, but once outside, it’s clear that she desperately needs to relieve herself. She is very easy to handle, and once she scopes out her surroundings, she is all about hanging with her person. She’s very wiggly, attentive, and affectionate. She’ll join me on the bench, gently lick my face, and lean into me when I pet her. She has been appropriate when we’ve encountered other dogs, very obediently sits for treats, and will dabble in a game of fetch. She always seems very grateful for attention and it’s a pleasure to give it to her! Is your Batcave in need of a low-key sweetheart?? Please come meet Robin at Brooklyn ACC today!
10/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A0741272 Robin came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Robin came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and playful towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Robin joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Robin was easy to handle when engaged with food and toy items, she freezes on rawhide item when attempting to remove the item away from her. Due to some concerns on rawhide item, the behavior feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. She lifts her head when hand is pushed against his cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. Rawhide: 4. Dog freezes. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
