Basic Information: Robin is an 12 year old Maltese mix. Robin was a gift to family member back in 2009. Owner surrenders Robin due to house soil and landlord issues.
Social Life and Personality: Robin lived with 4 adults and 2 children ages 7 months and 3 years old. Robin is playful towards the adults but not the children. Robin will keep her distance towards the children in the household. His behavior is unknown towards other animals. Robin is mostly indoors and his activity level is to a medium. Owner stated Robin is shy, mellow and friendly.
Behavior Issues: Robin has never bitten or scratched anyone to owner’s knowledge. He barks when someone knocked on the dog. Owner never touched Robin food when he was eating or tried to take anything away from his mouth. Robin isn’t bothered by taking a bath and is quiet. He barks when unfamiliar people approach the house or family member.
For a New Family to Know: Robin urinates all over the house and can’t control her bladder owner stated. He use to goes for walk 3-4 times a day because she loves outside. He knows English and Spanish commands. He stays in his favorite spot when home with owners. When home alone Robin is well behaved. Robin eats wet and dry food 3 times a day.
Intake Behavior: Upon intake Robin was shy and tense. He scanned positive for a microchip and allowed limited handling.

The owner mentioned Robin has a medium activity level. The owner also stated Robin is shy, mellow and friendly, and when home alone Robin is well behaved.
At intake Robin was shy and tense, he allowed limited handling. During SAFER Robin came into the assessment room calm and quiet, he was a bit social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Robin was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Robin was easy to handle when engaged with the items. The behavior department feels Robin can be suitable for an “average” adopter.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft.
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed.
Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed.
Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push him out.
Toy 1: No interest.
Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog licks, then turns away.
Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Robin allows greeting and is more interested but does not engage in play.
