Behavior: experienced home, no children
Roasted Nuts came into the care center as a stray so we do not have any information on his past behaviors in a home. At intake he was reported to be calm and relaxed while allowing all handling by a counselor. During SAFER Roasted Nuts did not solicit attention and appeared to be more interested in sniffing the ground. He maintained a relaxed body posture for all handling items, and was a bit distracted during the tag interaction. During the resources potion of the assessment Roasted shows potential for possessive behavior over the food and toys items, but was not interested in the rawhides. Due to the guarding behaviors seen on the on SAFER, we recommend an experienced adopter with no children who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification to address this behavior should it occur in a home setting.
