I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/17/2015 from NY 11422, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

06/17/15 14:53 Upon intake dog was very enrgetic and tense. He was jumping around everywhere and freezing when someone hovered above him. Dog scanned negative for a microchip. He allowed to be leashed and collared by an admissions counselor.

06/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ringo came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Ringo came into the assessment room with high energy and mouth open, sensitivity his body was tense with his mouth open. Tag-interaction he got easily over aroused with stiff body language, when attempting the paw handling Ringo became over aroused and mouthed the rope with stiff body language and growling. He was slow to deescalate and needed intervention to redirect him to more appropriate behavior. Food, rawhide item he showed no interest and toy item he froze when trying to remove the item with the assess-a-hand. Due to some concerns, in light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue that can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body tense, mouth closed. Tag: 3. Dog easily over aroused, responds with his tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor. Dog is often focused on other stimuli in the room. Food: 1. No interest Toy 1: 4. Dog freezes. Rawhide: 1. No interest.

When off leash with other dogs Ringo is sexually motivated. He becomes frustarated when he is not able to achieve this and will become vocal and pushy.
