I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 03/11/2015 from NY 11691, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

03/14/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog:A1029725 Upon intake it was noted that Rhoda had a loose body posture while allowing all handling, and sat on command. She was also reported to be friendly and tolerant of all handling during her medical exam. During SAFER Rhoda was excitable when interacting with the assessor. She allowed all handling items without issue and was playful during the tag item. Rhoda did become a bit stiff during the food item, but after a bit of pressure to her cheek she lifted her head from the food bowl. She was not interested in the toy items, and only showed minimal interest in the rawhides. During the dog-dog interaction, Rhoda approached the helper dog with a confident body posture, but showed no aggression. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog licks, then turns away. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail well above spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip neutral.

When off leash with other dogs, Rhoda is a bit foward and can get over-excited, She is vocal and mouthy when engaging in play with another dog. 3/16 Update Rhoda engages in some rough and rowdy play with a puppy and will offer appropiate corrections to a mouthy puppy. 3/17 Update When meeting a familar dog at the gate, she offers a loud bark. Due to previous knowledge of her being a vocal player, introduction continues and she relaxes. Does not appear interested in play. 3/19 Update Rhoda is more mellow and less assertive than previously when playing with other dogs, She engages in some play with a male. 3/28 Update Rhoda enjoys rough and rowdy play with a female but can get very vocal and intense during play
