10/02/15 16:28 Remy A1053466 a 10yr old white & brown female AMPBT/Am Staff mix & Sasha A1053462 a 1yr old female brown brindle Fiest mix were both given to the owner as gifts from friends and are being surrendered due to the owner being evicted. Remy was vaccinated in January 2014 & Sasha was last vaccinated in August 2014. Both currently have some bites and scratches that occurred last night from a scuffle they got into while unattended. Socialization: Around strangers Remy & Sasha are friendly/outgoing. They’ve been around children (now teenagers) ages 12, 14 & 17yrs old. Both are gentle & exuberant. Remy at times can play a little rough & is very protective of the kids. Sasha is known to be aggressive with Remy. They cannot be left alone together and are kept separated. Both have lived with a cat and were relaxed/playful with him. Remy nor Sasha have ever bitten a person but last night Remy & Sasha got into an altercation. Behavior: Neither Remy nor Sasha are bothered by fireworks/storms.Their behaviors are unknown for the following: having their food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved or having their nails trimmed. If someone unfamiliar approaches the home/yard/family member(s) both will bark. Remy nor Sasha are bothered by being held/restrained. They enjoy baths & being brushed. Remy nor Sasha have been allowed on the furniture. For a New Family to Know: Remy & Sasha are described as friendly, playful, confident & excitable. Remy is more alert and protective of everyone/the home. Both have very high activity levels. The owner likes how protective of the kids Remy is. Both love to play & run in the park. Remy & Sasha enjoy chew/bones. They’re indoor/outdoor dogs who sleep in either crates in different sides of the home or different rooms. They eat dry Gravy Train dog food 3x a day. Both are housebroken. Remy & Sasha aren’t left home alone for too long but are well behaved. Their known commands are “sit”, “eat” & “down”. Remy will jump on the door to let you know she needs to “go” outside. Both are walked 2x a day where they pull very hard on the leash. When walked in the park the owner lets them off leash, they’ll wander off but come back when called. Intake Behavior: Remy had high energy and was pacing/running around the lobby. She was very hyper while being handled but didn’t resist when scanned (-), collared or when having her picture taken.

Remy pulls a bit on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Remy did a lot of jumping up, body checking and played tug-of-war with the leash during tag interaction. She was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. She approaches helper dog, body is tense, ears erect and high tail wag. Remy was surrender to us. Her previous owner described her as friendly, playful, confident and excitable. Around strangers Sasha is friendly and outgoing. They’ve been around children (now teenagers) ages 12, 14 & 17yrs old. Remy at times can play a little rough and is very protective of the kids. Remy was surrender with another Sasha A#1053462. They cannot be left alone together and are kept separated. Sasha had lived with a cat and was relaxed and playful with him.” Remy show a bit of concern during the tag interaction she became a bit over arousal and also show some concerning during the dog interaction. Base on her owner profile and the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter without children who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Remy will feel better if she is the only dog in the house. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 3. Dog responds with her tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor.
